Donaldsonville slips by Central Catholic

Donaldsonville's Kelvon Davis slips through Central Catholic's Devante Frank and Barry Walker for a lay up in the Tigers' 43-37 victory Wednesday evening.

Donaldsonville used a 6-2 run to end the game and defeat Central Catholic 43-37 Wednesday evening in summer play at ACHS' gym.

Lloyd Brogan's leaner cut Donaldsonville's lead to 37-35 before Kenneth Parker's lay up and one of Darvelle Allen's block and Allen's dish to Kelvon Davis off an inbounds pass.

Davis' free throw and Joe Hensgnes' reflected the final tally.

Central Catholic took a 29-25 lead in the second half on Hensgnes jumper and Dontrell Brown's transition basket.

Donaldsonville answered with Davis' dish to Turner in transition and floater sandwiched Devon Breaux's pass to Davis for a 3-pointer near the top of the key off an inbounds pass.

Devante Frank's up and under cut it to 35-33 after Parker's bucket and Breaux's free throws before Davis' fade away jumper.

Tre` Sullivan's consecutive 3-pointers from the right wing gave Donaldsonville a 12-6 lead in the first half before Allen fed Akiee Turner inside and Davis passed to Allen inside and converted a lay up in transition to make it 18-9.

Barry Walker's up and under and transition bucket followed by Frank's free throws cut it to 18-15 before Davis fed Bernard inside right before halftime to give Donaldsonville a 20-15 lead.
