D'ville Flag Football league ends season

The Donaldsonville Youth Flag Fooball league finished its fifth and final week of the regular season at the Donaldsonville High School practice field Saturday.
The players and their families showed up for the Super Sunday Championship game, where they took group photos, received their trophies and certificates and also received Saints computer mouse pads and free jambalaya donated by business owner Eric Robinson of Donaldsonville.
The trophies were donated by parish councilman and Recreation Committee chairman Oliver Joseph.
Mark Peters, director of the league, called the season "our best yet out of the past five years. The kids played hard and had fun."
Peters also thanked the coaches and volunteers who assisted with this year's program.
Anyone wishing to volunteer for upcoming events can contact Peters at 647-3927.
