The New Orleans Saints have agreed to terms on a two-year contract with free agent defensive end Alex Brown, General Manager Mickey Loomis announced Wednesday.

Brown, a former fourth-round draft pick for the Chicago Bears in 2002, had played his entire eight-year NFL career with Chicago, appearing in 127 regular season games with 107 starts.

The 6-3, 260-pound lineman has totaled 481 tackles (289 solo) with 42.5 sacks, five interceptions, 16 forced fumbles and 11 fumble recoveries in his career. He has also played in four postseason games, making 14 tackles with one sack.

Chicago released the former All-American at the University of Florida last week despite having started all 16 games for the Bears for the sixth time in his career in 2009.
