Clerk of Court announces dates for commissioners’ school

Kermit Hart Bourque, Clerk of Court, announced this week that his office will be conducting schools to certify new Election Commissioners. The dates for the schools are Tuesday, July 13 and Monday, July 19, at 6 p.m. at the Courthouse in Gonzales, and Thursday, July 15, at 5:30 p.m. at the Courthouse in Donaldsonville.  Attendance is required at one session only. Commissioners presently certified do not have to attend.  

A certified Commissioner who serves on Election Day will receive $200.

Any qualified voter who is not entitled to assistance in voting and is not a candidate in the election may be selected as a Commissioner provided that he or she has been certified through successful attendance at Commissioners school.
