DHS ROTC attends leadership camp

Donaldsonville High School JROTC cadets spent seven days in the woods focusing on leadership and team building skills. The week started on Saturday, June 12 and ended on Saturday, June 19. Veteran cadets served as Commanders and leaders of the camp with cadets from two Texas schools. Cadets participated in early morning Physical Fitness, Drill, inspection of uniforms and rooms. During the day, cadets participated in Low and High Ropes Courses, marksmanship, Archery, Canoeing, Orienteering, Shelter Building and survival training. 

As a reward Cadets were allowed to take a trip to visit the USS KIDD museum on August 21.

Major Donald Bailey said,  “We toured the USS KIDD and the museum, visited the Old Governor’s mansion and had a guided tour of the Old State capital to include the new production about the ghost of the Old State Capital, Sarah Morgan.”
