Ascension Parish Chief Criminal Deputy Tony Bacala reports that a woman

has been arrested following the murder of her boyfriend in

Donaldsonville.

In the earlier morning hours of September 14, 2010 the Ascension Parish

Sheriff's deputies responded to reports of a stabbing at a mobile home

park on Bellina Drive off of Louisiana Highway 1 South in

Donaldsonville.

Upon arrival deputies located thirty-eight year old Brian Keith Norris.

He had apparently been stabbed once in the chest and was unresponsive.

Medical personnel attempted to resuscitate Norris but were unsuccessful

and he was pronounced dead on the scene.

The criminal investigation revealed that there was an altercation that

took place between Norris and his live in girlfriend, twenty-two year

old, Sherri Dubois Slayton. She then stabbed in the chest.

Sherri Dubois Slayton, 22, of 7850 Hickory Grove, Deville, Louisiana

(which is in Rapides Parish) was arrested and charged with 2nd degree

murder. She is currently incarcerated at the Ascension Parish jail on a

$150,000 bond set by Judge Alvin Turner.

Bacala indicated that Norris and Slayton had been living in Ascension

Parish for about a month and had moved there after Norris secured a

construction job in the area.
