Ascension Parish Edward Jones office supports Toys for Tots drive

The Ascension Parish area Edward Jones financial advisors have joined together to support the Marine Corps Reserve Toys for Tots program by using their offices as drop-off locations for this year’s toy drive.

Local residents may help needy children in the area by bringing in a new, unwrapped toy to any Ascension Parish area office during regular business hours beginning today.

“With the holiday season around the corner, we are all getting ready for the festivities,” said local Financial Advisor Ben Glueck. “As this is the season of giving, now is a great time to remember the less fortunate in our community.”

Drop off times are between 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday thru Friday. Coordinators will pick up the toys and store them in the central warehouse where the toys are sorted by age and gender. Other drops off spots in the parish are: Dependable Storage in Prairieville, GSA Engineers Inc., Donaldsonville Fire Department, and Ascension Parish Welcome Center in Sorrento.

There are several ways to contribute: making a corporate tax-deductible contribution for the purchase of toys, permitting the Marine Corps Reserve to use your organization as a collection point for toys, encouraging employees to donate toys, and  volunteering your time to assist with pickups and deliveries.

The Marine Toys for Tots Foundation is a not for profit organization authorized by the U.S. Marine Corps and the Department of Defense to provide fundraising and other necessary support for the annual Marine Corps Reserve Toys for Tots Program. Now, in its 63rd year, Toys for Tots brings the joy of Christmas and sends a message of hope to less fortunate children through the gift of a new toy during the Christmas holiday season.
