Kathe Hambrick-Jackson had the opportunity to go to the White House for the National Museum & Library Medal of Honor ceremony. The “First Lady” Michelle Obama made presentations to five museums and five libraries.

“I attended as the President of the Association of African American Museums. Maybe next year the River Road African American Museum in Donaldsonville will be considered for this award,” said Jackson.

“We will keep striving to do our best to preserve and educate about the culture of African Americans in the rural communities of Louisiana.”
