It seems the both the boys and girls basketball teams of Donaldsonville High have found a good rhythm to their respective seasons. The Lady Tiger and Tiger basketball teams are running on all cylinders. Both teams are riding 12 game win streaks as district play continues. Each team is in the driver’s seat of their divisions of District 7- 2A. Neither team is satisfied just yet, as both teams have aspirations to reach the state finals.

This past Friday the Lady Tigers of DHS cruised past the Runnels Lady Raiders with a score of 64-35. Seniors Kendra Coleman, Kayla Mollere, and junior Bianca Harvey led the Lady Tigers’ balanced offensive attack. The Tigers employed stifling defense and fast break offense to overwhelm the Lady Raiders. With the win, the Lady Tigers improved their district record to 10-0. With four district games remaining, the Lady Tigers are looking to finish strong and earn a top seed heading into the playoffs.

The boys’ basketball team also had no trouble in their game against the Raiders of Runnels. The Tigers were victorious by a score of 88-30. The Tigers jumped on the Raiders early and never let up. Runnels could not seem to break the pressure defense of the Tigers and the game was almost over before it even started. Senior captain Lorenzo Collins led the Tigers, with a host of other Tigers scoring in double figures. This was a dominant win for the Tigers as the second round of district play began. The

Tigers made it through the first round unscathed, with a record of 7-0, and with the win improved 8-0.
