Lowery Intermediate Drama club holds program

Lowery Intermediate honored Black History events with a play titled, “Stumbling into the past.” The play was held Thursday, Feb. 24. The Tiger Sensation Dance team danced to Wade in the Water.

The drama club talked about several influential African-Americans who changed the way the world operates. The Tiger Band, led by Quiana Green played several ballads to entice the crowd, and Nai’ja Scott welcomed students and guests, while Ty’Janay Brewer recited a poem. The play was set in a school setting, teaching kids about their history. Those who paved the way who were mentioned were: Rosa Parks, Harriet Tubman, Oprah Winfrey, and President Barack Obama.

Rodineka Williams, Katelyn Williams, Kayla Daigle, Nicholas McCray, and James White played Lift Every Voice and Sing and the crowd joined in.
