Kenny Henderson

What qualifies her?

Ajia Morand, a resident of Donaldsonville was recently named as program coordinator for Ascension Parish Recreation.

Morand brings experience from Northwestern State University and graduated in 2006 with a degree in Health and Exercise Science.

“I have been applying for positions like this one. Through years of interaction and others including me in many different programs I was able to get the experience I needed to qualify for this position,” says Morand.

All about business:

Morand says she is focused of creating more programs with the parish and the city of Donaldsonville for the betterment of the communities of Ascension. She hopes to see more programs for youth, adults and senior citizens in the Donaldsonville community. She also would like to create new partnerships with businesses in the Parish, open more facilities in Donaldsonville so that the community itself can have a safe place to participate in many activities that can promote encouragement, education, self-awareness and community involvement.

How she will get the job done?

My first step is to get the community to know who I am. From this I hope to gain knowledge of what the community wants to see established as programs in their neighborhoods.
