Phillip Leon Porto celebrates 100

Phillip Leon Porto, celebrated his 100th birthday on April 27, he was born in 1911 and was born and raised in Donaldsonville. Then some years later as a result of the 1929 depression, he moved to Chicago, Ill. to find work. He worked at the Wagner’s Pie Co. and then on to the Active Screw Corp. till retirement.

He was married to Sadie (Porcelli) for 62 years and together they have six children, 18 grandchildren, and numerous great and great great grandchildren. He presently resides in Park Ridge, Ill. At 100 years old, he still has a great sense of humor and likes to joke around.

Porto is the uncle to Nick and Joe Porto of Donaldsonville and Phil Porto of Lobdell, and Cecile Porto Inzerilla of California.
