American Legion and VFW to observe Memorial Day
The American Legion and the VFW of Donaldsonville are having a Memorial Day Service that will include placing American Flags on the graves of all veterans that are identifiable in cemeteries within the city limits of Donaldsonville on Friday, May 27. Donaldsonville High’s JROTC cadets will do the honors along with American Legion Post 98, Foreign Wars Post 3766, and any volunteers who want to help.
Volunteers will meet at Louisiana Square at 9:30 a.m. where the flags will be distributed. After flags have been distributed, service will resume in Louisiana Square for veterans that were killed in combat.
The public is invited to attend the 11 a.m. service. Jambalaya will be served following the memorial service.
