Five to Survive: We need you!

Allison B. Hudson

The Donaldsonville Chamber of Commerce has launched a new project called, “Five to Survive.” The project focus is to get all communities involved by offering a small donation of five dollars, or more if can to those in need during a natural disaster.

Susan Jumonville, who is instrumental in this project, said, “We know everyone may not be able to give large amounts, but together five dollars from each person can go a long way. We are not only asking individuals to participate, but churches, businesses, and various organizations.”

Every little bit helps, especially when no man can determine the time or place when a natural disaster will occur or whom it may affect.

The mission for this project is to act as a resource for human needs in times of natural disasters and relies on the generosity of the community to help reach our goals to restore hope in times of devastation.

“The vision is to do all good we can, in all ways we can, and go to all the places we are needed when called,” said Becky Katz, Executive Director of the Chamber.
