Donaldsonville residents gather in remembering our armed forces

On last Friday morning, Veterans of Foreign War and American Legion Post 98 held a Memorial Day ceremony in Louisiana Square. Residents and Government Officials came out in support to show their appreciation to those who are no longer with us who fought in the armed forces for our country, and to honor those still living.

“I am just glad to be here to be able to thank those who served our country,” said Mayor Leroy Sullivan.

A 21-gun salute was given at the ceremony for those no longer with us, and Raymond Carbo read a list of names of those who fought in specific wars from Donaldsonville.
