Allison B. Hudson

Anthony “Tony” Pizzolato, 85, a resident of Hammond and a native of Donaldsonville passed away on Thursday, May 26, 2011, at Specialty LTCH in Hammond. He served our country in the Merchant Marines during WWII and was a parishioner of Holy Ghost Catholic Church.

Tony leaves behind his wife of 61 years, Joan Pizzolato; two daughters: Monica Threeton and husband John, Gina Pizzolato and life partner Sandra Wright, along with grandchildren, Shea Griffith and wife Brandi, Shanie Dickens and husband Johnny, Kayla Threeton and Monique Threeton; great-grandchildren, Sydni Griffith and Peyton Dickens. He is also survived by a brother. Tyrone Pizzolato and wife Judy; brother-in-law, Gene Madere and wife Mary, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Anthony and Bessie Mistretta Pizzolato.

Relatives and friends of the family were invited to attend the religious services from the chapel of Brandon G. Thompson Funeral Home on Saturday, May 28, 2011 at 11 a.m. with visitation that began at 9 a.m. and interment followed in Rose Memorial Cemetery.
