Allison B. Hudson

The City of Donaldsonville Bright Futures program held its summer extravaganza this past Saturday at the Lemann Center. The kids have worked hard for the past two months on their own rendition of The Lion King. Much preparation was needed and these kids showed excellent progression.

“It was such a wonderful event, the play was awesome, the kids did a really good job,” said Mayor Leroy Sullivan.

Bright Futures program offers extracurricular activities to kids in the Donaldsonville area. They have featured classes like: sewing, arts and crafts, Spanish, dance, violin, cooking, golf, choir, and provide every student with academic classes.
