LeBlanc's Food Stores Sponsors Ascension High School Jamboree

LeBlanc’s Food Stores is sponsoring the Ascension Parish High School Jamboree Kickoff for the 13th year. The Jamboree will feature Donaldsonville High School, Dutchtown High School, East Ascension High School, and St. Amant High School. The LeBlanc family originally sponsored the jamboree in honor of M. Paul LeBlanc who tragically passed away in 1998. M. Paul LeBlanc is the father of Randy and Marcy LeBlanc who currently own and operate the 8 LeBlanc’s Food Stores locations. Today, the LeBlanc family continues to sponsor this jamboree in memory of M. Paul and Janice LeBlanc, Paul’s wife who passed away in 2010. Most of LeBlanc’s Food Stores part-time employees at their Ascension Parish stores attend these 4 high schools and a majority of their customers support these amazing schools.
As part of our sponsorship, LeBlanc’s Food Stores donates $500 to each of the four high schools in Ascension Parish. In addition, they donate $5,000 to cover the cost of the jamboree so the schools do not have to split that cost. LeBlanc’s Food Stores also cooks and serves a jambalaya dinner to all players, coaches, and staff on the night of the jamboree. Overall, LeBlanc’s Food Store donates nearly $10,000 each year to the high schools of Ascension Parish. The LeBlanc family invites all community members to attend this year’s LeBlanc’s Food Stores Ascension Jamboree Kick-off on Friday, August 26 at Spartan Stadium at 6:00 p.m.
The LeBlanc family, in remembrance of Mr. Paul and Ms. Janice, also award multiple $500 scholarships each year to high school seniors who attend any high school located within the areas that LeBlanc’s Food Stores operates. In 2011, the LeBlanc family awarded $500 scholarships to six high school seniors. The LeBlanc family encourages all seniors at East Ascension, Dutchtown, St. Amant, and Donaldsonville to apply by visiting www.braf.org and selecting the M. Paul and Janice LeBlanc Scholarship.
Brooke LeBlanc Knight, with LeBlanc’s Food Stores, presented checks to the four high schools at the Ascension Parish School Board Meeting on Tuesday, August 16.
