Fun times at the Sunshine Festival

The Donaldsonville Chamber of Commerce held its annual Sunshine Festival this past weekend. In addition, this year the Chamber held its Seafood and Wild game Cook-off, the political hot and spicy cook-off, and the political forum.

The Cook-off was held on Sunday at the fairgrounds and the political forum followed. First place in the Seafood and Wild game cook-off was Roland Landry, sponsored by Kent Schexnaydre. The political cook-off winner was Rene Mire Michel’s team, her cooks were Kim Latino and Gina Delatte.

The Avenue Cruisers provided the music, and all had a good time.

The Donaldsonville Chamber of Commerce would like to thank everyone for being an active and vital force in our Sunshine Festival.

“We appreciate all of the hard work from our deputies for patrolling the area, we thank our city workers for all of their time, we thank all of our members who provided tents, and we thank IESI for providing us a dumpster and trash boxes,” said Chamber President Marvin Gros.

“Most importantly we thank all of our Chamber members for making this event possible and a very big thank you to Pam Gregoire for stepping in and helping out at the Chamber office,” he added.
