Ascension Catholic Boy’s Win State Cross Country Championship Girls Finish 5th

The Ascension Catholic Cross Country Team traveled to Natchitoches, La. On November, 15 to compete in the LHSAA Cross Country State Championship.

The Boy’s team won it’s first ever Cross Country State Championship. Leading the boys was Zach Capello, who won the individual State Championship with a time of 16:26. Jesse Hood finished in 5th place with a time of 17:27. Patrick Brou finished in 9th place with a time of 18:01. Trey Capello finished in 10th place with a time of 18:22. Lee Oubre finished in 11th place with a time of 18:26. Thomas Daigle finished in 19th place with a time of 19:03. And Jordan Zeringue finished in 37th place with a time of 19:34.

In the girl’s race, the team finished 5th overall. Leading the girls was Whitney Eure, who finished in 9th place with a time of 21:52. Bailey LeBlanc finished in 10th place with a time of 21:56. Mariana Cuervo finished in 21st place with a time of 23:34. Breanna Bernard finished in 31st place with a time of 24:26. Danielle Brou finished in 49th place with a time of 26:15. And Haley Capello finished in 50th place with a time of 26:20. Also competing for the girls was Stephanie Breaux who was unable to finish due to injury.
