Miss Teen Louisiana World Promotes the Cinderella Project Again

Staff reports

For the third year now, Ashley Barbier - Teen Miss Louisiana World, would like to ask all young ladies to donate their slightly used prom gowns to the Cinderella Project of Baton Rouge for its annual dress giveaway. Ashley now in her second semester at LSU has collected many gowns over the last two years for this project. She first became involved when she competed and won a fundraiser pageant for the cause. Ever since, she and her mom, Donna Latino Barbier have been involved by collected gowns in the local area and delivering them to the drop off sites in Baton Rouge. Barbier says that word has really gotten out on this project and they are approached during the year by ladies who come across gowns that they want to donate, which they accept and keep until the annual give away.

Ashley encourages young girls and their moms to go through their closets for prom gowns, homecoming dresses, bridesmaids’ gowns and even bridal gowns. All donations will go towards a great cause for young ladies who may not otherwise be able to afford to afford go purchase a new gown.

Gowns may be dropped off at the Donaldsonville Chief, Donaldsonville Chamber of commerce. Ashley or Donna may be contacted at 225 473-6575. The mission of the Cinderella Project supports young women with resources that may not exist for them otherwise.
