DHS holds Mother-Daughter Tea

Staff reports

Recently, mothers of teenage girls at Donaldsonville High School took the initiative of organizing a Mother-Daughter Tea. The purpose of the tea was to allow mothers and daughters the opportunity to have special one-on-one time.

Both mother and daughter participated in relationship building activities that focused on trust, open communication, working together, and expressing thoughts and feelings with each other. Donaldsonville High school teacher Charie Worley and Capital Area Counselor Avis Lawrence serve as the school based facilitators of the program and are mentors to girls on campus. It is their belief that every teenage girl is special, and mothers are the direct link to help them become the young lady they desire to be. It is the sincere wish that the mothers and daughters, along with the DHS family, continue to organize activities that will build strong relationships and ladies of honorable character.
