TORNADO HITS ASCENSION PARISH

Ascension Parish Office of Homeland Security and Emergency Preparedness officials confirmed residences and structures in the Prairieville area sustained damage from winds caused by a strong weather system that passed through the parish this morning.

Sandbags are still available at the Department of Public Works building at 725 Church Street in Donaldsonville. Residents are asked to bring their own shovels.
