AMIkids Donaldsonville holds career fair

“You are our future generation, the decisions you make now, will determine you future,” said B.J. Francis Jr. as he spoke to a room full of kids that are students at AMIkids Donaldsonville.
He explained that he visits the school on a regular basis to let them know leaders in the community care about them, even though they have made mistakes.
The staff at AMIkids hosts a career fair for the kids once or twice a year to allow them to have choices of various jobs they can choose from.
This year’s job fair was no exception. Vendors varied from Construction companies to food companies.
Pizza Hut held on-site interviews, while Aflac Insurance agents recruited students who may be interested in selling insurance.
Teacher Andrea Johnson, who coordinated this event, stressed the importance of having a job and keeping a job.
“Dressing the part, and knowing how to communicate with an employer is vital,” she said. “We want to prepare our kids for careers and not just jobs.”
