Chief wins top awards

The Louisiana Press Association held its annual awards banquet last Saturday at Paragon Casino in Marksville.

The Donaldsonville Chief took home first place for Most Effective Use of Graphic Design on a single page, and Allison B. Hudson, Editor, and Graphic Designer Aanifa LeBlanc took home the Gary Hebert Award.

Other awards won were:

Second place awards for Best Overall Sports Coverage, and Best Classified Section. Third place awards for Best News Photo, Best Special Section, Best Front Page, Most Effective Use of Graphic Design on a Single Page, and Best Editorial Page.
