New clinic holds health and career fair

Capitol City Family Health Clinic (CCFHC) is anticipating their new facility to open on Catalpa Street in Donaldsonville this August. In the meantime, officials have planed a series of community events to raise awareness and inform residents of various services the clinic will offer.

Not only was there a health fair, but also residents who are seeking employment with a medical background were able to apply for job openings at the clinic.

There was a total of 85 people that applied for jobs at CCFHC, 22 people applied for jobs at the Louisiana Workforce Commission, and there was a few for HIV and STD testing at the Metro Health Mobile Unit.  

The vendors that participated were Wal-mart Vision, Capitol City Family Health Center’s nursing and dental staff, Louisiana Workforce Commission, and Capitol City Family Health Center’s Podiatrist Dr. Marvin Trotter.
