Faith Christian Center hosts College Night

Faith Christian Center hosted Southern University College Night in Donaldsonville. The Southern University office of recruitment chose to start their eight-city tour to recruit high school and college transfer students in Donaldsonville. Southern University has a long history of educating students from the City of Donaldsonville; Faith Christians Center has many alumni of Southern University, which help make this partnership a success.

Local students and their parents where invited to attend Southern University’s College Night at Faith Christian Center. The participants where greeted by Pastor Carnell Bailey , S.U. Graduate Dwayne Bailey talked about the historic significance and economic impact Southern University has had on the City of Donaldsonville. Dr. Ernie Hughes System Foundation Director spoke to the audience concerning Southern University’s commitment to area student in the river parishes. Dr. Hughes ask the students to seriously consider attending Southern one of the nations leading HBCU’s .

The recruitment office worked one on one with each student and their parents. College admission, financial aid and housing processes were covered. Southern University made a commitment to help each student through the college process to assure that every student that wanted to attend a four year university could attend Southern University.

Every parent left the event more comfortable with the college process, every student left with a smile knowing that there is a place for them at Southern University a four-year college.

Southern University and Faith Christian Center would like to thank Donaldsonville High Principal Dr. Esrom Pitre and his staff for their help with this very successful educational event for the students of Donaldsonville.
