River Parishes Community College is hosting a free Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) Camp this summer for incoming eleventh and twelfth grade students in Ascension, Assumption and St. James Parishes.

The STEM Camp is a week-long program that allows participants to learn more about careers in STEM-related fields.  Participants will use computers and technology, participate in STEM-related activities, learn about Career Pathways, meet professionals and take field trips to gain an understanding of and an interest in STEM careers.

The camp will be held every morning from July 23through July 27, 2012, from 8:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at River Parishes Community College at 7384 John Leblanc Boulevard (Hwy 22) in Sorrento.

The STEM Camp application is available in the “INSIDE RPCC” section of the River Parishes Community College web site, www.rpcc.edu. The application deadline is July 6. 

River Parishes Community College will notify applicants by July 13 and will hold a brief camp orientation for participants on July 20.
