AMIkids holds summer commencement

AMIkids Donaldsonville held its 2012 Summer Commencement last Thursday morning. The speaker was Judge John Guidry.

“It’s not where you come from but where you plan to go,” said Judge Guidry in his commencement address.

16 students made commitments to return to their regular schools and show improvement in their behavior and academic skills in the upcoming year.

Graduates were: Brianna Brown, Dylan Bonadona, Haroshell Carcisse, Kris Davis, Deon Deal, Deja Dennis, Kalin Elder, Casey Harris, Deontre Joseph, Terrance Nailer, Jordan Narcisse, Lacey Potter, Carl Shelvin, Heather Sibley, Chris Sullivan, and Anika Williams.

The staff of AMIkids Donaldsonville gave out academic and athletic awards to the graduates.

The graduates recited the school’s mission statement that reads: AMIkids is a non-profit organization dedicated to helping troubled youth develop into responsible and productive citizens. The mission of AMIkids is to protect the public safety and positively impact as many youth as possible through the efforts of diverse and innovative staff members. AMIkids works in partnership with youth agencies, local communities and families.
