DaVita Way of Giving: Dialysis Centers Give Back to the Community

GONZALES – DaVita®, the kidney care division of DaVita HealthCare Partners Inc. (NYSE: DVA) and a leading provider of kidney care services, announced a $1,000 contribution to Paracletia.

In December, DaVita Magnolia Dialysis and five other clinics presented Paracletia with a $1,000 check as part of the “DaVita Way of Giving,” the company’s local charitable giving initiative, which is distributing more than $1 million to help non-profit organizations throughout the United States grow and thrive.

Paracletia is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that provides confidential, compassionate and spiritual care to comfort the spirit, nurture hope and represent the presence of a loving God within a multi-cultural, ecumenical environment. The clinics chose to donate to Paracletia because of its enormous impact on the community. 

“As caregivers, we at DaVita are aware of the importance of nurturing people who are in need of healing on a variety of levels,” said Debbie Cox, facility administrator for DaVita. “A healthy community is needed to continue sending ripples of care around the world.”

Reverend Cathy Arends of Paracletia said the DaVita contribution will go a long way to support its mission.

“We strongly believe that people who have experienced loss often feel isolated, alone, devalued and unimportant to God,” said Arends. “Many will not seek help for their souls in a church or faith community. Paracletia is there for those people.”
