Ascension Parish Sheriff’s Office Chief Deputy Tony Bacala advises that the Sheriff’s Office is actively searching for Romel Julien, 27, of 123 Palm Drive, Donaldsonville for an outstanding warrant for unauthorized entry of a dwelling, domestic abuse battery, and felon in possession of a firearm.

On February 2, Julien, also known as, Romel Harvey, attacked his girlfriend at her residence. The altercation and fight moved outside, when she was able to get away from him, she dialed 911. When Julien found out that the Sheriff’s Office had been notified, he went into his trunk and pulled a long black gun, which was later identified as an AK-47 and ran into the woods to hide the gun. Julien returned empty handed, and fled the scene in a green old model Oldsmobile Delta 88 prior to deputies’ arrival.

Deputies arrived and located the AK-47 in a nearby neighbors shed. Julien is a convicted felon who is currently on parole and has a criminal history of physical violence, drugs, and theft.
