Ribbon Embroidery Basics

Recently, many library patrons gathered to share in the art of ribbon embroidery.  Jennifer Sherlock, Ascension Parish Library - Galvez staff member (pictured), taught five basic ribbon embroidery stitches that are used to create beautiful flowers, stems, and leaves.  Decorative fabric, needles, and ribbons were available, and the patrons went home with materials with which to practice their new techniques.
