GONZALES – Ascension Parish President signed a proclamation last week proclaiming Sunday, Feb. 17, 2013 as “2013 Junior Catholic Daughters of the Americas Day.”

Members of the JCDA’s St. Rose de Lima Court #1194 were on hand for the signing of the proclamation signifying 87 years of service.

According to the proclamation, the JCDA program nurtures personal and spiritual growth while promoting service to others. The JCDA believes in fostering awareness and appreciation of diversity through activities and experiences. This national youth program is open to Catholic girls ages 6 through 18 years of age.
