All councilmen were present for the roll call.

Public Comments were accepted from:

Steve Graugnard, who gave an update on the Nathan Bullock House on Lessard Street. The property is on contract and is scheduled to close on May 24, 2013.

Lawrence James commented about a trailer he wants to put on West Fifth Street and wants to know why one person can stop him from putting it there.

Agenda Amendments

* Liquor License Ascension Catholic Softball Tournament May 24-26

*Lawrence James on West 5th Street

Liquor License for Ascension Catholic Softball Tournament was approved. Motioned by Emile Spano and Second by Reginald Francis.

The Louisiana Development Ready City committee unveiled the new City Logo.

Captain Dean Werner gave the monthly Ascension Parish Sheriff's Report.

Superintendent Spencer Harvey gave the monthly Public Works Report for the city.

Chief Chuck Montero gave the monthly Fire Department Report for the city.

Will open the RRP's for the new fire station on Friday at 8 a.m.

Mrs. Catherine Jones addressed the city about using the Lemann Center for free for a fundraiser for the Ascension Heat basketball teams.

On a motion by Councilman Brown and Seconded by Councilman Delaney for the city to Co-sponsor the fundraiser and use of the Lemann Center with the minimum of two sheriff deputies.

Public Hearing on the Proposed 2013-2014 Annual Budget was held.

PROPERTIES IN VIOLATION OF CITY CODES:

Oliver Joseph property on 418, 420 and 422 Claiborne Street (3 houses)

On a motion by Councilman Spano and Seconded by Councilman Francis it was ordered that the property at 418 Claiborne Street by demolished in 90 days however if the repairs have started and for on the way in the 90 days the structure will not be demolished.

Mrs. Trudy Leblanc property at 316 St. Patrick St.

On a motion by Councilman Spano and Seconded by Councilman Francis that the property at 316 St. Patrick St. be ordered demolish in 90 days or put up for sale and if the property is sold the new owner can come before the city council with a plan.

Heirs of Helen Rose Scott Johnson property at 802 Catalpa St.

On a motion by Councilman Delaney and Seconded by Councilman Spano thet the property at 802 Catalpa St. be demolished in 30 days.

Mrs. Hazel Taylor property at 502 West 3rd Street.

On a motion by Councilman Delaney and Seconded by Councilman Francis that 502 West 3rd Street be tabled until the city attorney can make sure that Mr. Dave Taylor was served.

Mr. Walter Dumas property 211 Claiborne Street.

On a motion by Councilman Spano and Seconded by Councilman Brown that the property at 211 Claborne Street be demolished in 30 days.

Mrs. Gilda Brooks 511 West 10th Street

On a motion by Councilman Aucoin and Seconded by Councilman Spano that the property at 511 West 10th Street be demolished in 30 days.
