Four arrested in Donaldsonville shooting, homicide

Ascension Parish Sheriff's Office Lt. Col. Bobby Webre reports the arrests of four Donaldsonville men in the July 14 shooting in Donaldsonville that turned into a homicide investigation.

On Sunday evening, deputies were dispatched to Dville Village apartments in Donaldsonville in reference to a large fight, but when deputies arrived there was no fight located. A short while later deputies received a call regarding possible shots fired in Dville Village. Deputies located Brisecon Jasmine with a gunshot wound to the back of the head. Jasmine was transported to an area hospital where he was pronounced deceased during the night July 15.

Late Tuesday night, as the homicide investigation continued, detectives developed several suspects involved in the shooting of Jasmine. An arrest warrant has been obtained on the following for their involvement:

Jakil Jones, 21, of 1126 S. Park Ave., Gonzales for second-degree murder and illegal use of weapons.

Max Batiste, 22, of 812 Orange St., Donaldsonville for principal to second-degree murder.

Trevel Dunn, 20, of 701 Orange St., Donaldsonville for principal to second-degree murder.

Saquan Sullivan, 17, of 206 Martin Luther King Drive, Donaldsonville for principal to second-degree murder.

All four men were arrested overnight and booked into the Ascension Parish Jail with no bond set at this time.

Additional arrests are anticipated as the investigation continues.
