The Donaldsonville Rotary Club hosted Chancellor Dale Doty of the River Parishes Community College at its weekly luncheon last Thursday at Café Lafourche.

Doty visited the club for the first time since being named Chancellor and let the club know he plans to continue to move the two-year school forward.

“Our task is to see how many people we can get trained so they can get those jobs in operating and maintain these plants here at home,” Doty said.

Doty informed the club the same set of skills needed to operate and maintain the plant facilities are the same ones needed to build the new plants that are expanding and coming to the parish.

Doty said RPCC plans to be in its own new campus when fall session begins in August, which is located at the Edenborne Development site just off of Interstate 10 in Gonzales. The fall school session begins on August 18, Doty said.
