The Oklahoma Transportation Commission will hold a special meeting at 11 a.m. Monday, March 10 in the R.A. Ward Transportation Building, 200 N.E. 21st St. in Oklahoma City. The regularly-scheduled meeting was postponed due to inclement weather. Items to be addressed at the meeting include:
Oklahoma Department of Transportation Executive Director Mike Patterson will report to commissioners on ongoing emergency repair work at the Purcell/Lexington bridge on US-77/SH-39 that has been closed since late January.
Director of Capital Programs John Bowman will introduce the Division Manager of the agency’s new Facilities Management Division.
The commission is expected to vote on whether to award a contract for interchange reconstruction and pavement resurfacing on I-40 in Weatherford.
They are also are expected to vote on awarding a contract to reconstruct and widen more than a mile of SH-9 near 24th Ave. in Norman. This is part of a larger effort to eventually widen SH-9 to four lanes between Norman and Tecumseh.
Commissioners will be asked to vote on awarding contracts to replace several structurally deficient bridges, including two bridges on US-81 north of Medford in Grant County and the SH-9 bridge over the Union Pacific railroad near Eufaula in McIntosh County.
