Beck pitches no-hitter in Lady Bulldogs’ shutout win

After sophomore Rae’Shaun Malancon blasted a two run homerun over left field, her teammates met her at home-plate for a celebration.

The Ascension Catholic Softball team (9-3, 3-0) needed only four innings to score 15 runs in a shutout performance against White Castle last Thursday at the ACHS softball field.

Sophomore pitcher Julia Beck owned the mound early and often as she allowed no hits, no walks and forced six strikeouts.

Sophomore Rae’Shaun Malancon owned the batting end of the deal with a two run homerun at the bottom of the fourth inning to put the Lady Bulldogs up 12-0.

Senior Amy Gregoire batted 2-3, while Ali Richard batted 2-2 in the Lady Bulldogs’ winning effort.

The ACHS softball team will next play at home on Thursday, April 3 in a double-header against East Iberville.
