Walk with Jesus

The Women of The Greater Mt. Pilgrim B.C. will walk a mile with Jesus on Saturday, July 19, 2014 at 6 a.m. at the Donaldsonville High School Track Field. Come Walk It Out with Mothers, daughters, sisters, friends come one come all and experience the fun, fellowship and fitness with Christian women.

Fountain of Faith Christian Center hosts Faith Fest

Fountain of Faith Christian Center is hosting a city-wide Faith Fest at the Frank Sotile Pavilion on July 19. The summer event is designed to promote unity and peace within the local community and do it in a fun way on a fun day. This will be day fully packed with community fellowship, fun, free food, music, games, water slides, space walks and more with something for all ages. This event will be free to the public.

Bright Futures camp to honor Whitney Houston

The Bright Futures camp will honor singer Whitney Houston in a production arranged to salute to her musical talents on July 19 at 4 p.m. at the Lemann Center in Donaldsonville.

Crescent Park Fun Run

Donaldsonville High School is hosting a Fun Run on July 26 at 8 a.m. The run will be 2.5 miles and cover Donaldsonville’s Historic District. Participants can walk or run. All runners are asked to start in the first group, and all walkers in the second group. Strollers are welcome, but no bikes, skateboards, roller-skates or motorized vehicles. Sign up for the fun run now through Tuesday, July 22 at DHS’ front office. All t-shirts will be given out the day of the race. Race entry fee is $20. Greater Mt. Pilgrim B.C. hosts Women Day Program

The Greater Mt. Pilgrim Baptist Church invites you to share in the celebration of its Annual Women Day Program Sunday, July 20, 2014, during the 7 a.m. worship service. The Rev. Mary Moss, pastor of St. Alma Baptist Church of Lakeland, Louisiana will be the guest speaker.

The theme is “Excellent Women Breaking the Chains” and the scripture is Psalms 107:14- He brought them out of darkness and the shadow of death, and broke their bands apart.

Free Small Business Consulting at Library

Ascension Parish Library offers free small business consulting on the second Wednesday of each month at the library in Donaldsonville located at 500 Mississippi Street.  Persons wanting to start or improve a small business receive a private, two-hour consultation designed to provide professional help in areas of financing, marketing, and accounting.     

This service is provided by the Louisiana Small Business Development Center at Southern University – Baton Rouge and is funded in part through a cooperative agreement with the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA). Flu Shots Available at Ascension Parish Health Unit in Gonzales

GONZALES – The Ascension Parish Health Unit in Gonzales is offering flu mist treatments and flu vaccines every weekday, except Wednesdays, from 7 a.m. to 9 a.m. for a cost of $10. There is no fee for residents with Louisiana Medicaid or Medicare.
