Greatest of All

In Whitney Houston’s song, “Greatest of All” the first two lines say, “I believe the children are our future. Teach them well and let them lead the way.” Donaldsonville’s Bright Futures Community Learning Center (CLC) understands that message, and on Saturday night displayed it. In a tribute to the legendary singer, the students at Bright Futures CLC showed what they learned and what talent they naturally inherit, singing and dancing in honor of Houston.
Hundreds from the community packed Donaldsonville’s Lemann Center to see the tribute, and after several standing ovations and many long-lasting applauses it was clear: the children are the future.
Donaldsonville Mayor Leroy Sullivan was among several other dignitaries who attended the production. During intercession, all he could say was, “wow.”
“Whitney Houston is one of my favorites, so I’m really enjoying this right now,” Mayor Sullivan said. “It’s excellent, our kids are just so talented. We were just sitting up there in amazement at the vocals and everything is just awesome. We appreciate everyone who is a part of this program.”
Mayor Sullivan added, “I thank all of the parents for allowing their kids to be part of this wonderful program. My hats go off to Donna (Gaignard) and her staff for a wonderful job.”
