Trujillo completes Doctorate degree

Jared Michael Trujillo of Olympia Field, Illinois recently completed his Juris Doctorate degree with honors, Summa Cum Laude, from Hofstra University School of Law, Hempstead, Long Island, New York.

Hofstra University’s School of Law is among the nation’s most prestigious law schools, renowned for its prestigious faculty, its illustrious alumni, and the excellence of its law school curriculum.

Jared is the grandson of the late Rev. Percy E. Truehill and the late Mrs. Sammy L. Truehill, both of Napoleonville. He is the son of Eric Trujillo, a Napoleonville native, who recently returned to Louisiana after retirement from thirty years as an investigator for the State of Illinois.

Jared completed high school at Marist Catholic High School in Chicago, where he was in the top percent of his graduating class and the captain of the Marist track and field team. He won academic accolades as well as the prestigious “Block M” Award for his athletic prowess in the area of track and field that year. He was also the president of the debate club and was featured in Who’s Who Among High School Students in 2006.

Jared attended Drake University in Des Moines, Iowa, where he pledged Sigma Chi social fraternity and became recruitment chair and vice president, before transferring to Iowa State University in Ames, Iowa where he pursued double majors and received degrees in political science and economics.

Jared was one of fourteen new attorneys selected for junior partner positions with a prestigious New York City law firm from an applicant pool of over 2600. He will work for three years in litigation and then pursue a career in tax law.
