Don and Peggy Guillot honored Jacob LaGrange and Courtney Daze, recipients of their daughter’s memorial scholarship, at the Donaldsonville Rotary Club’s weekly luncheon.

Courtney Daze and Jacob LaGrange were recently awarded the Shawn E. Guillot Memorial Scholarship at the Ascension Catholic Academic Banquet held on Tuesday, September 9.  On Thursday, Sept. 28, the two students were recognized at the Donaldsonville Rotary Club by Shawn Guillot’s parents, Don and Peggy.

The Shawn E. Guillot Memorial Scholarship is awarded to these students for their high academics, active participation in their church parishes, contribution to positive school morale, and most importantly their exemplary behavior of what it means to be a Catholic school student.

Shawn Elizabeth Guillot was a sophomore student at ACHS when she was involved in a fatal automobile accident in August of 1991. Shawn’s family made the decision to donate her organs so that others might live.

Daze is the daughter of Blaine and Shandie Daze. She is a member of St. Anne Catholic Church in Napoleonville.

LaGrange is the son of Scott and Jane LaGrange. He is a member of St. Jules Catholic Church in Belle Rose.
