DHS English Class says ‘hands up, don’t shoot’

Donaldsonville High School’s Mrs. Leia Scott’s second block English 4 Dual Enrollment class has been following closely with local and national current events. After learning about the events still going on in Ferguson, Missouri, the class decided to pose with their hands up to join the movement.

The class learned on Monday night a priest was arrested for using his constitutional right to protest.

“Hands up, Don't Shoot, not only applies to encounters with police, but with our own also,” Scott said. “The day we protest for black on black crime the way we do for police brutality, there will be change.”
