Spouses of members of the Gulf Ports Associations of the Americas visited Donaldsonville last Thursday, and were guided and welcomed by Glenda Shaheen, a member of the group, and Missy Jandura of the Donaldsonville Downtown Development District and Mainstreet Donaldsonville.

The group toured the city and did some shopping and visiting along Railroad Avenue. While on the avenue, Donaldsonville Mayor and councilmembers Lauthaught Delaney, Sr. and Reginald Francis, Sr., joined the group for a welcoming and presentation at the River Road African American Musuem’s Jazz Plaza.

Mayor Sullivan presented the group with a key to the city, and Delaney presented a box of pralines to take a sweet taste of Donaldsonville back with the group.

“We appreciate you taking the time out to come here and touring our city and spending a little money,” Mayor Sullivan said.

The group was originally in Baton Rouge at L’Auberge for a conference hosted by the Port of Greater Baton Rouge.

Mayor Sullivan presented the key to the city to Blaine Sheets, also of Veron Sausage, and thanked the port and each person for what he or she does not just for Donaldsonville, but the state as well.
