DHS Sonic Boom Box band hosts showdown

The Donaldsonville High School Sonic Boom Box hosted a showdown, Saturday, against the East St. John Marching Wildcats band at the DHS Gym.

The two teams battled song after song for two hours varying in music pieces of today and a few old school jams such as the Marching Wildcats playing Prince’s “Purple Rain” and the Sonic Boom Box playing R. Kelly’s “It seems like your ready.”

The Sonic Boom Box also had a piece composed by student arranger Lawrence Brown called, “Whiskey.”

The two bands also joined sides and collaborated on a few pieces including the infamous, “Neck.”
