Chamber board hosts MYAC in Christmas spirit

The Donaldsonville Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors hosted the Donaldsonville Mayor’s Youth Advisory Council last week at the Grapevine for a Christmas dinner, and to also show appreciation of the a positive youth organization that was formed to enhance teen leadership in the community.
Chamber President Paul Landry, IV spoke to the seven members of the MYAC, encouraging and informing them the importance of business influence and being able to lead a group of people in a positive setting.
The MYAC, comprised of Tamiko Stroud, Maerys Joseph, Paige Joseph, Jimmia Williams, Jalon Chatman, Lawrence Brown, III, Katilyn Williams and Coordinator Tamiko Garrison, all got an opportunity to talk to each of the board directors about life and growing as productive citizens.
Chamber Vice-President Allison Hudson, Chamber Executive Director Becky Katz, and Chamber board member DeRon Talley all attended in support of the youth.
Mayor Leroy Sullivan also showed his support and appreciation of the two groups getting together and networking.
At the dinner, the MYAC presented a Christmas gift to Garrison for her efforts and leadership in providing them with the opportunity.
Garrison returned the gesture and gave each of the members a gift, a t-shirt that read “Product of Donaldsonville.”
The Chamber was not left out of the gift-giving as Landry and Hudson presented the MYAC with gifts as well.
