The Donaldsonville Mayor’s Youth Advisory Council continues to learn about, support and develop its community. Last week at the group’s monthly meeting at City Hall, CF Industries General Manager Lou Frey talked to teens and informed them what exactly goes on at the nitrogen plant.

As far as Frey’s position with the plant, he told the teens there are some things leaders should possess, “be able to learn people, accept the accountability that comes with responsibility, and be trustworthy.”

“You have to learn about the people and put them in the right places,” Frey said.

He told the group if they want to be in a leadership role, they must be accountable and responsible.

“You have to trust people, but you also have to be trustworthy,” Frey said, as another quality of a leader.

Since the MYAC began, it welcomes keynote speakers to address the panel.

The council meets on the first Wednesday of every month.

Serving on the 2014-15 Mayor's Youth Advisory Council are: Lawrence Brown III, Jalon Chatman, Maeyrs Joseph, Paige Joseph, Tamiko Stroud, Jimmie Williams, and Katilyn Williams.
