Krewe of Elks celebrates 82nd Annual Mardi Gras Ball

The Assumption Parish Community Center was the backdrop of a “Magical Mystery Tour” Saturday evening as the Krewe of Elks held its 82nd annual Mardi Gras Ball. Serving as ball captain for the evening was Micah Crochet with Brandy and P.L. “Kip” Viallon as ball chairmen.

The evening opened with the final presentation of King Jolly Goodfellow LXXXI Pegram J. Mire, Jr., Attorney at Law, Judge, 23rd J.D.C (retired) and his Queen, Lauren Ashley Mistretta, as they were introduced, extended their well wishes for this year’s royalty, and took their final walk. A gift of roses was presented to the queen from Ladies Auxiliary President Tammy Crochet.

Reigning over this year’s celebration were King Jolly Goodfellow LXXXII Robert T. Walker and his Queen, Bailey Adams Walker.  Bailey is the daughter of Robert and Aimee Walker. Bailey is currently attending Louisiana State University where she is majoring in Biology with plans to attend dental school. She is a member of Phi Mu Sorority and serves on their Executive Board.

Costumed couples for this year’s celebration paying homage to the King were Neal and Marcel Dugas, Eric and Allison Griffin, Troy LeBlanc and Terri Paxton, Justin and Kesley Rivers, and Dr. Bruno and Maryam Savoia.

Debuting as The Royal Court for King Jolly Goodfellow LXXXII was Grand Duchess Kaitlyn Marie Mistretta, daughter of Past Exalted Ruler David and Jill Mistretta. Maids Stephanie Elizabeth Allee, daughter of King Jolly Goodfellow LXXII Stacy Allee and Wendi Allee; Gabrielle Elizabeth Daigle, daughter of Thomas and Janet Daigle; Natalie Nicole Landry, daughter of Mark and Valerie Landry; Amber Ann LeBlanc, daughter of Drew and Donnell LeBlanc. Grand Duke Lloyd Anthony Capello III, son of Past Exalted Ruler Rocky and Kim Capello; Grand Duke D.J. Latino, son of Past Exalted Ruler Dennis and Lisa Latino; Grand Duke Brennan Jude Legendre, son of Past Exalted Ruler Todd and Jill Legendre.  Dukes Logan Mitchell Brodnax, son of Kenneth and Janice Brodnax and Samuel Sabin Mattingly, son of Daniel and Sandy Mattingly.

Junior Maids presented were Caryn Gabrielle Bonadona, daughter of Jerod and Jessica Bonadona; Brooke Alise Delatte, daughter of Jon and Gina Richard and the late Lloyd Delatte Jr.; Elaine Michelle Landry, daughter of Pierre and Holly Landry; Lauren Elizabeth Landry, daughter of Jim and Nobie Landry; Meredith Cecile Medine, daughter of Mike and Renee Medine; Caroline Alexis Rome, daughter of Cliff and Rebecca Rome; and Catherine Anne Villa, daughter of Keith and Audra Villa.

Pages and Heralds paying homage to the King were Sophie Grace Crochet, daughter of Exalted Ruler Micah and Ladies Auxiliary President Tammy Crochet; Karson Roy Folse, son of Stephen and Jessica Folse; Kole Anthony Folse, son of Stephen and Jessica Folse; Austin Roques Landry, son of Peter and Lauren Landry; Ty Joseph LeBlanc, son of Troy LeBlanc and Rebecca LeBlanc; Londyn Elayne Pennison, daughter of Colby and Jeanie Pennison; Ayden Marie Riche’, daughter of Niles and 1996 Queen Ashley Riche’; Hayden Jane Theriot, daughter of Ray and Jenny Theriot; Slayde Alexander Theriot, son of Brandon and Tiffani Theriot; John Thomas Bede Viallon, son of Ball Chairmen P.L. “Kip” and Brandy Viallon.

The festivities continued throughout the night with dancing to the music of the band, Good Feeling. The evening concluded with a Royal Breakfast hosted by their majesties.
