Everybody knows the old saying that wine gets better with time. Well you can also throw Barbera Chevrolet in Napoleonville in that conversation. Two years ago, Louisiana’s oldest Chevrolet dealer was remodeled and now it has been recognized as the dealership with the top percent of attainment of all General Motors dealers in the state for the year 2014.

General Motors Zone Manager, Craig Bailey, wrote in a letter to Bobby Barbera that the Napoleonville dealership experienced a 47.1 percent Year-over-Year (YOY) increase, which is “simply outstanding.”

Bailey said additionally, Barbera’s sales performance in December was more than the 17 units sold in November, and the total CYE Chevy sales YOY performance of 10.8 percent was well above the District, Zone and Nation.

Barbera Chevrolet exceeded its 2014 Chevy Sales objective at 110.8 percent.

“Simply put, you and your team rocked the house in 2014,” Bailey wrote in the letter.

Bobby Barbera said the success in 2014 was fun but it’s all about the customers, “they are the reason we got it.”

“It was a lot of hard work, but I have a lot of good people working for me and with me,” Bobby Barbera said. “It’s like one big family and it’s the way we want to treat our customers too.”

“Being the oldest in the state, it’s real nice to know we’ve been in one place in a little town of Napoleonville and being able to survive so it’s hats off to Assumption, Ascension and Lafourche, and St. James parishes for keeping us here,” Bobby Barbera said. “There are a lot of people all over that help keep us alive.”

Bobby Barbera added: “It’s an honor to sit here and say in Assumption Parish where things have changed so much, it’s still a great place to live. It’s people all around and we have good government, good schools. It’s a little Mayberry but it’s a good place to raise a family.”

“Barbera Chevrolet, it’s not what we promise, it’s what we do, and that is why we’ve been in business for 88 years.”

Bailey also wrote in the letter: “Thank you for your leadership in 2014 and I’m really looking forward to you building on your strong Chevy sales performance even more as we embark on 2015.”
