The Donaldsonville High School Sonic Boom Box band put on a show for hundreds and thousands of people who gathered for the Mardi Gras Season. The competition hosted, DHS, White Castle, Plaquemine, Opelousas, Wossman, East Iberville, Washington, Marion, and East Feliciana.

Despite many shows, despite the opponents the Sonic Boom Box prevailed in success.

The drumline took home first place in the Battle of the Bands and the band wowed the crowds. Tension rose between Donaldsonville and Plaqumine which became a small rival, but the Sonic Boom Box played songs from “Whiskey” to “We dem boyz,”  which stole the crowds’ hearts.

DHS became a crowd favorite, receiving many compliments from the hometown fans and the opposing fans.

The band is under leadership of Marc Ward as director, and assistants LaTrent White, Devon Allen, and Chris.
